At Albipack, we always work with the goal of contributing to a greener and more sustainable world, so, more and more, we try to present eco-sustainable solutions to our clients, trying to reduce the use of plastics made from virgin polymers, promoting the use of solutions with less ecological impact on the environment.
With this goal in mind, we have established partnerships that allow us to provide packaging solutions using Compostable films made from vegetable raw materials and solutions that are 100% reusable and recyclable, as is the case of Thermo-weldable Paper.
Biodegradable film is an alternative to conventional plastic film, which shares some fundamental characteristics, such as protection, resistance, and quality.
One of the compostable material solutions we have is PLA (Polylactic Acid), which has a short degradation period. While conventional plastics such as polystyrene and polyethylene take between 500 and 1000 years to degrade; PLA when in composting centres, takes about 45 days to decompose, and even when disposed of incorrectly this process takes between 6 months and 2 years. Compostable packaging can be treated as organic waste and therefore naturally decompose as organic matter.
If small particles from the packaging pass into food and end up inside our bodies, there is no health risk, as PLA converts into lactic acid, which is a food substance naturally eliminated by our bodies.
Heat-sealable paper is an innovative and sustainable solution for the packaging sector, as it is reusable and recyclable. This material is treated in a way that allows direct contact with products, making it a valid alternative for both technical and food products.

These solutions continue to allow total customisation, according to the clients' needs, as they are suitable for printing, allowing the communication of their brand, while opting for ecological solutions. Furthermore, they become a sales argument as this is a sensitive topic for a growing number of consumers.
